Exercising Daily

How many excuses can you come up with to get out of exercising each day? "Working-out bores me." "I'm too tired to exercise." "I work from sun-up to sun-down." "I have no time for physical activity now that I'm a parent." Over time, physical activity can move further and further down your list of to-do's until one day it no longer exists. Sure, being bored with exercise or too tired to work out are real reasons why even the best intentions fall short. However, the importance of daily physical activity continues to move up on the list of things you can do to live a healthy life.

No matter which stage of life you're in, the limited hours in the day can stand in the way of paying attention to what's important. If you are like many people time is of the essence in your day. Let's face it, there will always be something competing for your time. Fitting in 30 minutes of exercise a day may not appeal to you. Instead you opt for staying on the couch. Sound familiar? This all or nothing approach can lead to a sense of failure.

To break this downward spiral, divide your exercise into smaller increments. Doing so is perfectly okay, health beneficial, and just plain smart for busy people. Short bouts of exercise lasting 10-15 minutes work well and can provide you with the health benefits that physical activity brings. Click here to read how to get 30 minutes of exercise a day.
