Endorphins - Opioid (morphine-like) substances produced in the brain that reduce the sensation of pain and can positively affect emotions.

Inflammatory Response - The way in which your body recognizes and protects itself when foreign substances present themselves. The foreign substance presents and a chain of events occurs. Symptoms can include swelling, heat, redness, itching and/or pain.

REM Sleep - (Rapid Eye Movement Sleep) the term used to describe the state of sleep that involves increased activity in the forebrain and midbrain. During this time, muscle tone relaxes, dreams occur and a rapid movement occurs with the eyes.

Ozone - A gas composed of three atoms of oxygen. When ozone is far enough away from the earth, it does not pose a problem. When ozone is at ground level it can be harmful to breathe. Industrial emissions, car exhaust, and vapors form chemical solvents and gasoline have a role in producing ground level ozone.

Pesticides/herbicides - Pesticides are poisonous chemicals that are used against pests, such as insects and rodents; herbicides are poisonous chemicals used to kill weeds.

PCBs (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) - Toxic chemicals that may be found in paint, adhesives, fire retardant agents, and solvents.
